1529 hrs. Presently, I am sitting in the office. I have been back here for a few days.

Since I have returned from Canada, I have been working steadily on the next book of travel stories and journals and preparing radio shows. This weekend’s set is going to be a great one.

Tonight, I will be at the Hollywood Bowl. The Miles Davis family is unveiling the Miles Davis postage stamp. They invited me and asked me to say a few words. I am looking forward to it, of course but I am also getting wound up about it. I always get this way when I have to speak at an event. There will be press there and all that, so it’s a calorie burning experience. The stamp looks really cool though, not surprising, it’s Miles Davis, after all.

The Canadian dates were great and if you were at any of those shows, thank you very much for making it to the show and being such an energized and switched on group, night after night. There have been a few letters over the last few weeks, asking why Toronto was not included in the June dates. Here is your answer: I will be there in November for multiple shows. When all that firms up, I will let you know. Thank you for your interest.

I will be in Los Angeles for a few weeks as there are no shows to do and I have a lot of things on here. I will be taking off again in late July into early August for festival and regular dates in England, Holland, Germany, Poland and Scotland.

Which leads me to this. In September, we will embark upon a tour that has been in the works for well over a year. It’s called Capitalism and I will be in the capital city of all fifty states.

We have again teamed up with Shepard Fairey, generously took time out of his insane schedule to make a great poster for this tour. It will be limited, signed and on the road with us. I have never done a talking show in Hawaii, I am looking forward to that.

The tour ends in Washington DC on the eve of the election. DC should be a very interesting place to be on that date.

We all wait for what SCOTUS will decide on the ACA. I have no crystal ball and honestly, a lot of the numbers on this kind of thing get by me very quickly. I always look at these matters from a human on the street point of view as that is something I understand. The idea of for profit insurance has always said the same thing to me. It says that there’s no profit in doing what you say you’re going to do. Seeing that all people eventually need some kind of healthcare, you would think the issue wouldn’t be so devisive. I guess it all comes down on how to pay for it. The unavoidable fact that most if not all people eventually need some kind of looking after doesn’t seem to get very far into the discussion before people start calling other people names and accusing them of whatever. Meanwhile, you’re still going to break down now and then.

Whatever the decision, we will go on!

Thanks for reading this.
